Dying Light '1', as I will call it, had a decent story mixed with great gameplay. Those aspects are the same for The Following: All accept one. I wonder if this is something new in the works that would reveal what happens after the first game, although it is more probably just one of the existing DLCs that have only been available on Gemly.Okay so before I start my rant, I would like to say: SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERSĭying Light was (and still is) a very fun game to play it had a great story, the gameplay was so much fun, and the multiplayer was amazing. One more bit that might interesting is that SteamDB shows the recent addition of a "Dying Light Book" DLC that has not been released yet. If you played DL: The Following, you know there are only two options regarding Kyle's fate, and both are rather unpleasant ) If the one when he becomes a zombie is the real one. We’ll see Kyle Crane in Dying Light 2?, I know how The Following ended, but which of the finals is the canon?. How exactly the story is tied to the previous game, you will have to wait a bit to see. It is probably best to wait until more is revealed Which ending to the following is canon and are any characters from dying light 1 be in dying light 2?ĭying Light 2 is set around 15 years in the future, in a different part of the world, so the events of The Following affect it only indirectly. Also, no answer was given to people asking about the endings specifically. I could not find a clear answer to this, but Twitter comments by seem to imply it is, in the sense that the events of The Following happened in the continuity of DL2, even if the stories are connected only indirectly. Until we see more info and get more valid interviews, we won’t know for sure but my opinion is that it is not canon, if I find valid interviews to that affect, I will post them for sure :) Two of the three endings ends with the entire places blown off the map and just one where Crane escapes but may have been immediately killed by soldiers or other civilians (we never see that but they know what was lurking in their and more than likely had lookouts around the perimeter of the quarantine zone) So, yeah many possibilities of a virus spreading other than the actual ending of the Following. Then there is Tolga and Fatin who also escaped Harran in the Following, also maybe carrying the virus with them.Īlso, when CrNe first gets to Old Town Troy shows a transmission of the supposed last sole survivor escaping from Harran, again maybe carrying the virus. Maybe with all that was going on, he and some other runners slipped past the barricade and got out of Harran unknowingly bringing the virus with them.
Where did he go? There is no mention of what actually happened, but both he and the barge were gone when you return after getting to Sector 0 the first time. And they more than likely had the original virus outside Harran quarantine zone(this would explain the following and the new blue “suppression” vials) in an attempt to test the virus again and test ways to immunize non-combatants. The GRE may have created this virus all along as a bio weapon and it was released on Harran as a test to see its potential. There were plenty of other ways the virus spread. Now I’m not saying it is or is not canon, cause even if I said it was not without proof either way it would just be a theory as are all other opinions. From what devs hinted at, that both endings were not pleasant ones for Crane and that he died. Given the fact that none of the original characters are going to be there and it’s in a totally new locations leads me to believe that it may not be canon to the new game. Anything is possible but I believe I also read or saw an interview where they said it wasn’t cannon per se.
